With the frontis of Henrietta Maria Regina. Broken up into three parts, The Pearl of Practice (Physical and Chyrurgical), The Queen's Delight (Preserving, Conserving, Candying) and The Compleat Cook with separate title pages but continuous pagination in parts 1 and 2. Originally published in 1655, the Queen's Closet is divided into the Pearle of Practice, which consists of medical recipes, and The Queen's Delight, which is confectionery - The Queen's Delight has a separate title page. All of the recipes were supposed to have come from the kitchen of Henrietta Maria, the wife of King Charles I who had been put to death six years before the first edition was published in 1655 and it includes a list of the luminaries that the recipes were gleaned from.
