The fifth edition of the first important book on forest conservation along with Pomona which includes information on cider and perry making and Acetaria, (first edition 1699) a grand and wide ranging discussion of salad, salad dressings, the ancient world, Tewksberry mustard, the humors, and the cruelty of eating blood. On lettuce: "by reason of its soporiferous quality, ever was, and still continues. the principal foundation of the universal Tribe of Sallets".
