The first edition of Vedder's Rubaiyat in folio with illustrated boards. Front hinge cracked and held by decorative endpapers, wear at corners and to spine, spine strip loosening; shaken. Scattered minor foxing and browning internally, mostly in margins. A nice copy, internally.
Inscribed by Marietta Minnigerode Andrews to her cousin and lifelong friend Rozier Dulany "To My dear Rozier Dulany, from his Po' Relation" and signed and dated June 1928 with a charming pencil sketch of a woman in profile. Marietta Minnigerode Andrews was an important painter, designer, and author who grew up in Virginia. Her charming autobiography, "Memoirs of a Poor Relation" mentions Rozier Dulany repeatedly.
