First published in 1699 as a Country Gentlemen's Vade Mecum, it's a sort of satirical guide to avoiding vice while actually being a guide to finding it. Published in some profusion in the second half of the 18th century as Cheats of London Exposed, but the early editions are all scarce. Warnings for expecting better conversation in London than in the country, for tennis courts, the theater, trapping, cock fights, gambling, guinea dropping, prostitutes, etc. Size: Octavo (8vo).
