The authors were half British half Chinese sisters. Winnifred made a career out of passing for Japanese, writing a series of popular romance novels under here Japanese sounding but not Japanese pseudonym. This is the first American cookbook to prominently feature Japanese recipes and one of the earliest to feature Chinese.
