London: Dr. Rippon's Meeting House, 1800.
Sixth Edition. Hardcover (Half Leather). Item #047391
Wide format 12mo attractively rebound in leather backed marbled boards, old ownership label of Miss S. Arnald retained and mounted to loose sheet. Undated ca. 1800? The first edition was 1790, Rippon became a "Dr." in 1792 and there were a number of edtions printed relatively quickly thereafter, most or all undated. All are rare in commerce and uncommon in libraries, no doubt because they were heavily used and printed on cheap paper. This, though a little haphazardly numbered, appears complete until the end - seems to be missing 319/320 and the index. xx, (6), 318pp. Printed in two columns.
Browned, chipped, stained throughout, a few pages with significant degradation and some old repairs, but largely intact. Lagniappe offer on the title "Those persons who purchase six Copies of Mr. R. may have a seventh Gratis." Size: duodecimo (12mo). Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: Under 1 kilo. Category: Music; Inventory No: 047391.
