The rare first English edition - a second edition was published in 1732. Both are rare, this first less often seen in commerce. It is (I'm pretty sure) intended as satire, but the misogyny of the time and the misogyny of the satire have, over time, blurred together so that it is difficult to separate the two. François Bruys condemned women for their taste for "prize-fighters" , "hackney coach-men", and "rope-dancers". Damnable rope-dancers! Size: Octavo (8vo). Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: Under 1 kilo. Category: Women & Feminism; Literature & Literary. Inventory No: 047144.
