Platina's history of the popes, first printed in 1479. He was also the author of the first printed cookbook, a collection of recipes from Martino di Como (1475). His description of events in the Vitis Pontificum around the 1456 appearance of Halley's comet during the reign of Pope Callixtus III gave rise to the persistent tale that the comet was excommunicated.
