Contemporary vellum, age toned, stain to rear cover, rippled, lacking ties, but quite sound. Second edition after the 1524 first, and first Paris edition. Small stain or burn mark to leading edge, scattered very minor foxing and staining to pages, quite clean overall. 216 leaves.
Finely printed with historiated initials throughout by the great Parisian printer Charlotte Guillard. Guillard had started working in printing with her first husband Berthold Rembolt, took over the press when he died in 1519 and continued running the press under the name of her second husband Claude Chevallon in 1520.
