Sallamanca & Madrid: Iua Baptista de Terranova, 1570.
Early Edition. Hardcover (Full Leather). Good Condition. Item #046061
Rebound in modern full calf. Worming to margins through volume, heavier at rear, but still only in the margin, occasionally just touching a letter or gloss, dampstain with tide mark 2/3 of the way up the page throughout, not affecting legibilility. Two volumes in one, the first dated 1569/70 (colophon/title page) and 1564, with a fine printer's mark after the first colophon. Both works are quite rare, just a copy or two in OCLC. Nicely rebound, flawed but complete. 116, (2) leaves. 2 blanks, 48 leaves.
Two rare volumes, the first originally published in Italian by Aldus in 1544, translated into French in 1549 and Spanish in 1568 (Valencia) - this the second Spanish edition. Sforza was famed for her learning and also wrote on the condition of women. The latter work was published as part of Orozco's works in 1570, but OCLC shows no copies of the original. Size: Octavo (8vo). Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: Under 1 kilo. Category: Religion & Theology; Antiquarian & Rare. Inventory No: 046061.
