A single sheet from an early German edition of Le Moyne, likely the first German edition published in 1591, the year after the Latin. The engraving depicts the reception of the queen by the king that Laudonnière (René Goulaine de Laudonnière c. 1529–1574) described from his time in Florida. The text describes the ear piercing of the men and women and the intricate mannerisms of the queen which are copied by the girls in the audience.
