Early full calf, rebacked and respined in brown leather. Light browning in spots internally, a few small finger smudges, one small wormtrail in the outer margin for most of the volume getting wider at the very end but never touching any text, browning in he gutter of the engraved title and a tear in the upper right corner of the first text page with no loss, otherwise generally bright and unmarked. An attractive copy with fine, dark impressions of the 20 full page illustrations. 11, 255, 71, (1), 40, (6) pp, two front and two rear blanks preserved with one of each added when rebacked. Caracci engraved the frontis and the plates for Cantos 6, 7, 8, 10, 12, 16, 17, 19 and 20. "Edition tres estimée a cause des belles figures".
