Attractively rebound (ca. late 19th century) in mottled calf in an antique style. Scattered foxing, light dampstain to last page, added endpapers. An attractive copy of the Elzevir edition of Comenius's classic language text originally published in 1629. Comenius believed that languages could only be properly learned in relation to each other - the five languages here are Latin, French, Italian, Spanish and German. 863pp "caused an entire revolution in the method of education".
