An early reprint, ca. 1840, of this unauthorized narrative. 6 plates (including a map), frontispiece and extra engraved title, and a folding table. Tears to title page with a section missing but no loss of text, a few pages worn at the edges including the engraved title, closed tear to one plate, scattered moderate foxing, one plate with an embossed stamp in the margin, foxing to plates, largely in the margins. Wear to corners of brown stamped cloth. Pages 697-703 are a dictionary of the Esquimaux language. 716pp plus a 44 page appendix. Ads at rear.
