It’s likely that neither of these will make the field, but here is a jaunty cabinet photo with signature of Charles Dana (one time editor of the Brook Farm newspaper The Harbinger among other endeavors) and a really stellar example of a engraved chin beard from Jefferson Davis.

Re skye gavin’s comment on new world archive, I had exactly the same experience. For several years, they ordered and all went well. Then they suddenly started claiming books were in poor condition that were not. I don’t know if they were sending different titles back to me as to skye gavin, but their objections were breathtakingly picky. I have 100% positive feedback, and have for years. I stopped selling to them and their orders are now few and far between…I think they’ve caught on that I cancel, so it wastes their time to order from me. I never complained to them–what good would it do? But like skye gavin, I advise caution in filling orders for this organization.
I have to see the orders come through from 7th Ave in Portland cuz I know they are resllers..but have to admit I have had no trouble from them, nor from Paper Cavalier or Ravelle.
I mostly enjoy selling to individuals who just want a book!!! : o )
