Romney and Feneon

June 27th, 2007 § 4

More news in three lines thanks to Mitt Romney and the Boston (slow news month) Globe – thanks to Universalhub for the heads up on this one.

Mitt Romney, was not unmoved by his wind-weary Irish Setter’s befouling of his rear windshield in 1983. He acted swiftly to cleanse the animal, the glass, and restore order.

The dog’s name was Seamus which leads me to believe that Romney (or Don’t Bogart that Joint Romney as he was known at BYU) was a secret Floyd head – Seamus (that’s the dog, outside) was a track off the somewhat obscure Meddle from 1971.

Heh. Or he could have been trying to fit in with his Massachusetts neighbors – like the Franklin Park Zoo, which just named that baby tapir Seamus.

Very good, but there’s a crucial edit that I’d make:

Mitt Romney was not unmoved by his wind-weary Irish Setter’s befouling of his rear windshield. In 1983. He acted swiftly to cleanse the animal, the glass, and restore order.

    Don’t you think that’s better?

I need to get pithier, really drill these down to their essence.

    I blogged your fait-divers.

I wonder, now, if the “Irish Setter” in this parable is a reference to Boston? The station wagon is Romney’s presidential campaign? We will get our payback for all the crap he’s said about us in other states?
